Jennifer Cromarty announced her resignation from the Committee for Geelong, triggering the search for the Committee’s next CEO.

Harvest Talent Recruitment & People Solutions is pleased to partner with the Committee for Geelong to find a new CEO.

The Committee has had three CEO’s since its inception with inaugural CEO, Peter Dorling, who during his 11 years steered the Committee the membership based organisation. During this time the Committee established a strong vision for Geelong and helped fast track the realisation of a new plan for a vibrant city centre. Under Rebecca Casson, now Master Builders Australia CEO, the Committee continued to champion Geelong as second city and the civic deal. Jen Cromarty, has continued to advocate for the region, including delivering a new strategy, releasing multiple research reports, partnering with the Geelong Advertiser for the Future Geelong magazine, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.

“Our new CEO will have the responsibility to engage members, stakeholders and the community to influence decision makers in government and the private sector”. Chair of the Board, Clive Pugh states.

Over its 20 years the Committee for Geelong, a representative body of Geelong’s leaders has provided strategic leadership, advocacy and influence to design Geelong’s best future.  The Committee also, through its Geelong Leaders Program, has seen over 600 graduates with “Leaders” alumni continue to influence the region via civic leadership and corporate executive positions.

The Board has selected CfG member and boutique Geelong Executive and Specialist Recruitment Firm, Harvest to appoint its next CEO. Director of Harvest, and recent President of Geelong Business Club, Maree Herath has a strong affiliation with Geelong, an appreciation of the region’s landscape; its current challenges but also the opportunities which can be capitalised on. A proven expert, Maree brings over 25 years executive search experience locally, nationally and abroad and the Board look forward to partnering with Harvest to secure its fourth Chief Executive Officer.

“It’s such an exciting period in the future of Geelong. The new CEO will be a key leader in developing projects that have a lifetime of impact for the people of Geelong.”

Expressions of Interest for the role can be made directly through Harvest and the position is advertised on all major job boards.
