  • How does workforce planning interrelate with organisational design and capability and competencies frameworks?
  • How do we ensure we get it right?

Moderated by our expert Strategic Workforce Planning Consultant and Coach, Tess Walton, our panel includes:

  • Kitty Wilson – Workforce Shaping Lead – WorkSafe
  • Kim Manley – P&C Manager – Local Government
  • Sheila Naidoo – HR Director – Retail/Manufacturing

Meet our Panel Moderator – Tess Walton

The diversity of Tess’ career means her experience is not easily labelled. Her skill foundations are Change Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Strategy Planning and Development, as well as Consulting and Entrepreneur. Tess has been recognised for thought leadership both in Australia and US for developing tools and techniques in Strategic Workforce Planning which enables organisations to focus on people capability and productivity for improved business performance that can be used for specific initiatives or embedded into annual business planning. Tess has studied Strategic Foresight which assists her approach, whether strategic planning, people planning, change management or business analysis, to factor in the future, so that the planning isn’t just strong for today but also for tomorrow (the probable, plausible and possible).

Tess is a HR Partner within Harvest HR & People Solutions business. We look forward to Tess sharing her insights in addition to moderating the discussion on this topic.

Meet our Panel

Kitty Wilson – Workforce Shaping Lead at WorkSafe

Kitty first gained a taste for Workforce planning in a significant mobilisation and demobilisation project which incorporated elements of workforce planning. Since this time Kitty honed her skills as workforce planning analyst with TAC looking at the data that feeds into workforce planning and then, as Strategic Workforce Planning consultant with TAC she developed an enterprise wise workforce plan. Now as Workforce Shaping Lead, Kitty leads a team to deliver organisational design, strategic workforce planning, diversity and workforce analytics in an organisation undergoing significant transformation.

Kitty is now a Workforce Planning subject matter expert and we look forward to hearing Kitty’s insights into strategic workforce planning

Sheila Naidoo – HR Director – Retail/Manufacturing

Sheila has enjoyed an extensive career heading up HR functions however her strategic workforce planning expertise has been for organisations under pressure. Whether it be the changes to the retail landscape or international pressures for manufacturing organisations, Sheila has been able to turn around financial performance by addressing the operating model and ensuring the workforce and organisation design aligns with where the organisation should and should not be operating. Sheila then addresses the capability requirements the organisation needs to do business and from here develops the workforce plan. In manufacturing she has addressed the issue of an ageing workforce and how to future proof the organisation and recruit and build the skill base.

Retailers and manufacturers will benefit from hearing Sheila’s experience within these two challenged sectors.

Kim Manley – P&C Manager – Local Government

Kim is a Human Resources and Business Improvement specialist with more than two decades of experience in helping organisations improve the performance of people systems in ways that improve service delivery.  As a trained Lean Six Sigma facilitator and experienced human resource professional, Kim is able to both analyse the elements that will drive success and coach staff through change.  Kim’s broad experience enables her to understand strategic challenges and translate these into practical actions.
