When I embarked on establishing a Geelong based Recruitment Agency it was intuitive. I had relocated from Perth to be closer to my parents, my Dad in particular was of ill-health when I arrived. Not staying still for too long and needing a huge degree of flexibility with a young family of my own I decided to launch my recruitment business, Harvest Recruitment, out of the shed at our family’s Hamlyn Heights home (if you go to our intro video you will see some snippets of that “hole in the wall” I called my home for 18 months). As our clients grew we needed to have a more “professional” space and moved to sublet offices in Myers Street in 2010/2011 however it was the growth in our staff number that required us to find a new home.

As a member of Contours’ Gym on Shannon Avenue I saw the offices behind the gym up for lease and in November 2011 took the plunge and moved our recruitment agency into the offices without too much work required and there we stayed for two years. Last year, Premium Styling gave us a style guide with their thoughts on how our office could look and over the Christmas break I bit the bullet and gave the recruitment office its, much needed, facelift.

Looking at the before and after photos there is a piece of me that cringes. Was it really that bad?  Now we can showcase the office to clients, suppliers, partners and our candidates who are always commenting on how light and bright it is.

Maree Business Beat 1What I love now is we really have cemented our branding from website, marketing collateral which now transcends to our Recruitment Agency Office in Geelong and our other, Recruitment Office in Perth which also opened in December.

It was also a great backdrop for our recent photo-shoot in preparation for my new column in The Geelong Advertiser’s Business Beat Section.

Office Make Overs are highly motivating. Not only has the office got a new lease of life but the whole Harvest Recruitment Agency Team are loving our new space.

Office MakeoverA big shout out goes to Mandy Molloy-Lee from Premium Interior Styling, Rohan Merry and his able Painting Crew from Beyond Expectations and Stewart Gretgrix from Gretgrix Construction for your wonderful work. Also I cannot mention enough my project partner, Louise McGuinness – part of the HarvestHR team – who was a key player in the refurbishment.

So, if you are yet to see our Geelong Recruitment Office we’d love to give you the tour.
