About the company
Our client is a long-established Australian designer and manufacturer of high-performance heat-transfer and cooling solutions, supplying major customers across mining, rail, trucking and transport, data centres and other industrial markets. With over five decades of engineering excellence, the business is known for its technical capability, reliability, and ability to solve complex industrial challenges. The organisation operates within a listed group, combining the stability of a larger corporate with the agility of a specialised, customer-focused operation.
Role and Responsibilities
As Business Development Manager, you will apply technical/engineering applications with commercial outcomes. You will interpret customer requirements for engineered mechanical equipment, prepare and negotiate accurate technical and commercial quotations, and protect margin integrity through sound costing and specifications. Working closely with the General Manager and a close knit team of Application Engineers, you will spend at least two days per week on the road, building strong relationships with customers and identifying opportunities across target sectors to drive sustainable, profitable growth.
Skills, experience, qualifications
You may be an Applications Engineer ready to step into a more commercial role, or a Technical Sales professional with strong mechanical aptitude seeking a more complex, engineered-to-order environment. You bring experience with mechanical or industrial equipment, confidence in interpreting technical information, and the ability to engage credibly with Project Managers, General Managers Engineers and operational stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail in quoting and costing, and a proactive, relationship-driven approach will be essential. Relevant engineering, trade or technical qualifications will be highly regarded.
If you’re motivated by technically challenging work and want to shape high-value customer solutions in a respected industrial manufacturer, we’d like to hear from you.
